 Infinity Calvin and Hobbes

When you look into infinity you realize that there are more important things than what people do all day. Well the last place I expected to be inspired was in a Calvin and Hobbes comic but crazier things have indeed happened. This line captures something that I think is so important in modern society. Our daily lives are honestly filled with so much unimportant nonsense that we become drowned in it. And this is really a problem thats pretty new to the human race. I mean a hundred years ago there was no television, internet, or video games to be distracted by. Going way back to the Iron Age and all time previous to it, all human beings really focused on was religion(philosophy), war, and surviving. Humans have become so comfortable that our daily problems seem infinitely larger than they actually are. So please in a metaphorical sense start looking more into infinity and less into yourself.

 uncomfortable

Here at Out Of Inspiration we have been known to make claims about life that seem unintuitive and unconventional, well I want to keep that trend going and say this: Discomfort is the key to your success. Yup, discomfort. Not striving to be comfortable but striving to be uncomfortable is what will give you an edge. Becoming numb to discomfort is a learned skill, and has a very simple training routine: immerse yourself in discomfort as often as you can. Okay but why am I telling you that discomfort is good? Well because comfort leads to complacency. And as Jimmy Carter once said “I hate to see complacency prevail in our lives when it’s so directly contrary to the teachings of Christ.” So not only is complacency unholy, but it also tends to ultimately hold back your potential and make you afraid to excel. A complacent person is afraid to take risks, afraid to seize opportunities, and is satisfied with living nothing more than mediocre life. So you have a choice, comfort or discomfort, fall behind or excel, mediocracy or greatness. The choice is yours.
